Aratus. Ἀράτου Σολέως Φαινόμενα μετὰ σχολίων, Venice, Aldus Manutius [17] October 1499.
First edition of the text that had previously constituted part of a miscellaneous volume with works of astronomical content such as those by Firmicus, Manilius and Proclus, in their Latin translation, however, except for the text by Theon with is commentary on Aratus. Aratus’s Phenomena ke prognostica had come out in Latin in about 1474, according to the integral edition of Brescia by Heinrich von Köln and Statius Gallus. The popularity of Aratus in the Renaissance is due to the teaching discipline of the seven liberal arts during the Middle Ages, testified by numerous manuscripts and references.
